It bothered Ilya, he was used to attention from everyone, male female or other, everyone loved him, his face, his body. Ilya thrived like a flower in the sun, the gentle affection from everyone feeding him, recharging him, making him feel whole. But Ilya never got that from Shane, the cold exterior of Hollander cutting him like a knife when he dared get too close, the face never breaking in front of him no matter how charming Ilya tried to be. Never faltering, always a picture perfect photo of the enemies they were made out to be.
Facing each other on a reality TV show Shane and Ilyas biggest challenge won't be winning, it will be each other.

Summary
Shane did a lot of falling, falling into broken pieces like ceramics smashed against concrete, like glass thrown against a wall during an argument, like bones hitting centre ice. But this is the one he knew would kill him. Would take what he had managed to get back, stop the progress he had made, bring the static back and the voices in his head. So he hid. Put himself back in his room, locked the boxes marked Ilya back away in his brain. Took himself away and let the voices take over again. Knew that breaking his own heart was the easier option.
