    Two weeks of boredom for the Enterprise crew are suddenly alleviated by a mysterious distress call—disturbing and utterly alien in nature. Following it to its source, they find an unfamiliar space station, almost entirely deserted except for a select number of life-signs.

    Making the decision to board and investigate, Jim and his chosen away team find the ruins of a long-dead alien science colony and an angry crew of space pirates—but there’s far more going on here than meets the eye. Something is stirring in the shadows, something they will need all their wits to survive.
