He didn’t care if it was anyone else, but the thought of him being a part of that made his stomach sink and lungs burn as if he was being swept under by a sharp current. He learnt that hearts acted on impulse, had no capacity for logic or reasoning, which left them beating for the wrong soul. All of his life he had learnt to drown his desires, to look at girls and not guys. He had been fine with that, he had been thriving even.
Until Arvid opened the floodgates and destroyed the dam that held his raw, unmasked feelings together. Now they all rushed out, infecting Liam’s mind and every thought; each gentle touch that should have been nothing left him feeling like he had just been sparked with electricity.
