“Granger,” a voice called out as Hermione was leaving the shop. A very familiar voice, and though she hadn’t heard it in many months, she remembered the lilt that came from a forgotten accent when Malfoy was nervous.
For a moment, she considered continuing on without acknowledging the blonde, but curiosity won out. She turned with a polite smile on her face, nodding towards the blonde who had just come from the back of the shop.
“Malfoy, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Hermione fixed the polite expression on her face as the wizard advanced. The blonde was so busy pretending to not be nervous that it was seeping out of his shields.
“I want to apologize. For everything that I did to you and your acquaintances in the past. I caught Weasley a fortnight ago and apologized.” Malfoy huffed out a false laugh that seemed painful.
“There is no animosity between us, as far as I am concerned, Malfoy. We were children, doing as we saw others do.” She held out her hand, and with an astonished look on his face, Draco Malfoy shook her hand.
