February 847.
After a year and a half, the fall of Wall Maria is still fresh in everyone's minds and lives. In a remote corner of Wall Rose, Zia aspires to a disillusioned yet peaceful routine, taking care of her godson Logan and adjusting to her uneventful life.
The quiet life she envisioned is suddenly disrupted when her friend Astrid dies brutally during an expedition beyond the walls, and Logan disappears to join the military. Following these upheavals, Zia finds herself faced with the Survey Corps, for whom she has little sympathy.

OR - When Jean and the rest of the ambassadors return home after three years away, their goal is to prevent civil unrest by uniting Paradis Island with the Allied Forces. Somehow, in the capital of Mitras, Jean runs into his childhood friend- someone he previously presumed dead. Although she seems to want nothing to do with him (greatly contrasting the little girl that used to follow him around Trost like a lost puppy) as the days go on Jean’s thoughts keep returning to her. Through endless meetings, the threat of assassination, and an underground coup against Queen Historia, Jean’s thoughts always come back to her. To Edith Prewitt.
And then, eventually, so does everything else…
