If not by the poison, it was the hydraulic press. If not by the hydraulic press, it was the poison. Blood was coating Momota’s jacket then, as he laid on it, his injuries from just a couple of minutes before weren’t done leaking yet. He knew that the people who walked in that door would think “Momota Kaito is dead. Ouma Kokichi killed him.”
He remembered snorting then when that thought came, and he remembered that he thought, “They could never be more wrong. But let them think that.”
