Summary
“How are you?” Stiles asked, falling onto the couch beside Derek and leaning heavily into him. “How was your day? How’s the book?” He kissed his cheek once. Twice. Then two more times in quick succession.
Derek turned to look at him, Stiles affecting his most innocent expression as he patiently waited for Derek to answer his questions.
Instead of doing so, Derek slowly closed his book, losing his page, and set it on the coffee table in front of them. Then he turned to look at Stiles, leaning back slightly against the arm rest, and crossed his arms.
“What do you want?”

Derek is tearing down the Hale house. Rebuilding on the foundation. He doesn't ask for help. Stiles shows up anyway — with a spreadsheet, a build schedule, and a group chat called "HGTV: Hell Edition."
Within six months, Stiles has nested so deeply into the territory that his scent is in the walls, he's wearing Derek's hoodies like they're his, and every wolf in the pack has quietly rearranged their life around him. Somehow, he can't seem to hide anything from Derek, who is now acting more and more like a real person. Maybe even a friend. All Stiles wants is to feel normal, and Derek seems to be the most normal thing in his life.

“My broodar is telling me I should head in this direction.”
Derek squinted in confusion on the other end of the phone, “Broodar?”
“Yeah. It’s like a gaydar, but for detecting brooding.”
