Summary
For one unpleasant moment, Goro Akechi is a man with a gun, staring down a young girl so sick and so injured that she can hardly even hold up her head. He is a man, looking at a pretty, incapacitated girl, and he is about to murder her.
Kumiko Akechi draws her shoulders back and remembers herself. The moment passes.
Or: one time Kumiko Akechi killed a woman who deserved to die, five times she killed a woman who didn't.

Summary
Akechi Goro lives, and takes it upon himself to move out of Tokyo to some small town, even just for a while to get himself back to a respectable state. Inaba is far and quiet, and he can't possibly run into anyone from his past to see him decide what that state is exactly.
Akira Kurusu also lives. And has to temporarily move back home since his probation is over. He'll just be there a couple months, working as much as he can to make enough money to move back to Tokyo as soon as he can. It will be easy and the time will go quick, after all, not much ever happens in Inaba.
