Summary
The war has not gone well for anyone. The Alliance has three months left before collapse. The Horde is not much better off. With neither victory or death as options, Sylvanas proposes an alternative. A treaty, to ease tensions and open borders, with a political hostage to ensure that both sides stay in line. A marriage with many political implications and Sylvanas would only accept one person. Jaina Proudmoore.
And Jaina Proudmoore made for the perfect hostage. If the Alliance moves wrong, Jaina dies. The Horde attacks, and Jaina reduces Orgrimmar to a wisp of a memory in the minds of children.
Of course, no one expected Sylvanas and Jaina to be anything more than uneasy partners with each other, least of all Sylvanas and Jaina...

Summary
Zoey loves seeing Rumi like this. It’s rare outside their home but not totally unlike the transformation that overtakes her when she’s about to perform—but this is so much more pointed, fixed on five fools instead of fifty thousand beloved fans, and all the more potent for it. When Rumi lifts her chin, a smirk pulling at her lips, it’s like she’s grown three inches and the aura that burns around her is pure power.
(Zoey doesn’t moan. No matter what Mira’s judgemental look might suggest.)

Summary
Mira watches Zoey wake up with a knowing smile on her face, though she continues teasing up Rumi’s stomach until her fingers brush the underside of her breasts. She stretches her palms slightly, lets the very tips of her fingers graze Rumi’s nipples and revels in the long moan it draws from her throat.
“Are you guys fucking without me?”
The first words out of Zoey’s mouth are petulant, punctuated with a sleepy pout. Rumi wants to smile at the sight, but another needy whine breaks past her lips as Mira flicks her nipple with her thumb.
“Not yet,” Mira hums. “You made it just in time.”

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”
