Summary
Meng Yao makes a few less dubious life choices, Jin Zixuan lives, as does Jiang Yanli, and things change. Instead of being the head of Yunmeng Jiang, Jiang Cheng lives at Koi Tower, whipping Jin disciples into shape and doing his best to make sure Mo Xuanyu has a place in Lanling Jin, all while he tries to avoid his past, looked down on by much of the Cultivation world and dismissed as Jin Guangyao's kept man. These rumours, the jealousy of (a still living)Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen- as well as Jin Guangyao's issues, arising from his past- have driven a wedge between Jin Guangyao and the other two members of the Venerated Triad, now closer to strangers than sworn brothers- or even the lovers- they once were.
Of course things never stay the same, peace is only momentary, and resentment lingers in the world. Secrets will out, vengeance will be sought, and the Yiling Patriarch will always, inevitably, be summoned...
