Summary
Jaemin has never imagined a life without his childhood best friend Jeno in their little village, walled off first with brick then with a psychic barrier to protect from the mutants who roam the outside post-apocalyptic world. While Jaemin's always had average psychic powers, average smarts, he notices more and more how Jeno, as one of the gifted and powerful kids in their class, actually gets punished More by teachers for being Too powerful.
As they grow up, Jaemin discovers and then forgets and then re-discovers more backwards things about their little village. Eventually he realizes he needs to protect Jeno from suffering the same fate as other kids who have been erased from existence, which is the school board's preferred method for dealing with kids whose powers have a chance of growing out of control in the future.
However, it will be difficult for Jaemin to reach Jeno if he can't remember.

Summary
In an AU where akuma have become their own species, akuma teens are sent to asylums until adulthood. Marinette is looking for Mylene one day, but discovers that no one at the asylum remembers her. When trying to find out if Mylene ever really existed, the secrets of the asylum begin emerging, and Marinette finds out that there are some dreams that you shouldn't wake up from. Now, someone walked into the room. A boy, awkwardly standing at the side of his bed, looking over him worriedly. His hair was brown and scruffy, and he had big baby doe eyes and a yellow-and-blue horizontally-striped shirt like a cartoon character. The window was lighting him up like he was important to Mike’s narrative. The curtains are blue, thought Mike, this boy is light. I love metaphors. Maybe he was high on the pain meds. Upon seeing him, Mike felt a great affection, a great peace. Plus, he had long eyelashes. Mike almost giggled to himself. He was definitely a little high.
“Hi.” breathed Mike.
“Hi.” he said, hesitating.
“We’re friends?” Mike asked hopefully.
Or: During the Party's final battle with Vecna, Mike is gravely injured and loses his memories. He wakes up in a hospital only remembering a handful of inconsequential little things, like how much he loves a boy who seems like light.

“What?”, Will huffs, shaking his head in disbelief. “You know blue does not only equate sadness, right? It is one of the blatantly obvious meanings, sure, but it can also imply tranquility, loyalty, trust, peace, and—"
Shut up, shut up, shut up, the voice in his head screams by now, but one cannot interrupt Will in the middle of one of his art rants. Impossible. No chance. “And with the vastness of the sky or sea, blue is also often associated with distance, longing, yearning, and— stuff.”
“Distance”, Mike echoes, and only then does Will truly understand what he has just admitted into the air freely, completely unprovoked and voluntarily. “Longing. Yearning.”
Obviously, this is the exact moment Robert Smith decides to sing about the fact that it is Friday, and that he is very much in love.
Five times Mike distracts Will from his art assignments with his stupidly flirtatious ways, and one time Will actually needs his help to complete a coursework.

Summary
Their shoulders brushed again, slow and equally savored. The kind of movement you couldn't pretend was an accident.
So Will brushed back, just barely. Testing. Flirting. Mike inhaled softly, the faintest noise escaping him. And then he spoke like he was physically unable to stay silent any longer.
“Will? If… if that boy you like…” he was standing so close that Will could feel the warmth of him against the cold air. “…If you ever wanted to tell him…”
Will felt his breath stop.
“…I think he’d want to know.”
OR: A buzzy post-vol 1 fic in which Will finally grows more confident, only for the hivemind’s possession to take it all away again. Mike may be the only one who can bring it back. And the two of them might be the only ones who can save the world.
