Summary
Just gunna post little (usually less than 1k) writing bits here, stuff that comes from prompts or the like and not via my usual brainstorming methods. Feel free to send me/comment prompts or suggestions, tho obviously never a guarantee I'll do them (I'm a disaster, i cant promise shit)
Lengths will be variable, but they'll all be a lot more casual and haphazard than my usual writing, goal being written within a day/sitting. No editing, we die like fools.
Sidestep: Raz Becker
I'll try to add specific tws in the notes for each chapter. But you know the drill, fhr has rough themes, tread with caution

Summary
Ricardo wasn't sure how long the climb took, just that his limbs were burning with a little more than satisfaction by the time they reached the top— he really was heavier than the last time he'd done something like this. He consciously decided not to be embarrassed at the grunt he made when he pushed himself up over the final ledge. Raz did him the dignity of not laughing, or pointing out that it was what Anathema would call a 'retiree noise.' Ricardo was probably imagining the twitch of his lips in this dim light.
"Alright then, what's it we were going to miss?"
Raz doesn't exactly give Ricardo a birthday present, but close enough.

Summary
"Raz called me." Too simple, too honest, and much, much too sure for someone who'd been hallucinating his dead friend regularly since watching him fall from a window. Not fall. Jump. He had watched Raz jump. He didn't stop it. No amount of therapy in the world would convince him that he couldn't have stopped it, maybe if he'd just—
"You're drunk."
It was an accusation, not even a question, and a part of Ricardo wished she was right.
Nearly four years after the Heartbreak Incident, Ricardo Ortega gets a phone call from the dead.

"I'm looking at you like you're a murderer." The last word is a strangled curse. "Ariel didn't kill. He saved people."
The pained laugh that escapes your throat is as dark and cynical as your soul.
"Oh please, Ricardo. You should know better than anyone else that I was always capable of murder."

Summary
There’s an innate wrongness in how still he is. Ricardo Ortega, larger than life and as bright as any sun, the man that lived life like it was something to be wrangled into submission. Sure, he’d been hurt before, it’s an inevitability in his line of work, but he always seemed…
Untouchable.
Until he wasn’t.

AU Sidestep heads south instead of immediately tearing into old wounds and overwhelming noise of Los Diablos, determined that if they're going to die, it's going to be in the most open, warm, bright, safe space they can imagine.
Thankfully Snowball saves the day.
Now everyone else has to deal with the aftermath
Implied canon typical Farm nastiness

Summary
It’s been a week since the Heartbreak attack, and you feel like death.
Outside, there’s people fighting. Couples, family members, strangers. A girl stalks her crush, careful footsteps as she peers over a convenience store rack to see the pretty brown eyes that haunt her dreams. Someone frantically runs through the streets, looking for their lost dog. They taste blood in their lungs, and their legs ache, but it’s nothing compared to the heartache inside.
You can relate to that. You taste vomit on your tongue, and your eyes itch from all the tears, but it’s nothing compared to the burning emptiness inside where your heart used to beat.
Anathema is dead after all, what else matters?

Title:What Death Leaves Behind
Summary: Vendetta survived Heartbreak, told Julia the truth, and now ne has to learn how to survive grief.
<3 : Amazing writing, and Ven is such a delightful Sidestep, both in the heaviness featured in this fic, and the humor in other works the author has shared on different platforms. The emphasis on words throughout this fic and how they are so important to Vendetta, how they are connection, is so beautiful. -

Summary: What if Sidestep isn't Sidestep? Cyrus' first escape was a failure, and now he has been sent to spy on the Rangers, or maybe just given a longer leash to test his loyalty...
<3 : Love love this fic, I've revisited it a truly embarrassing and wonderful number of times. The author does such a great job balancing Cyrus' personality and sense of self with the repression of both to stay alive at the Farm. The banter between him and Ricardo is masterfully done, as are the portrayals of telepathy and the Farm itself, and I am so eager to learn what happens next.
