Summary
Clark is hyperfixated with Batman's lips. He has them down to the exact centimeter. He's been mapping every hair of his stubble like astronomers used to map stars. He doesn't know why.
Bruce has ignored his feelings for decades. He's sure he can do it forever.
Or, when the reveal finally happens because Bruce figures it out first, and Clark realizes Batman's lips are on Bruce Wayne's face.

Clark laughed at the absurdity of the compliment. “Well, Mr. Wayne, if you decide to change that fact, do let me know, and I’ll be sure to keep my wardrobe out of your city.”

Clark admires Batman, the man who has given up civilian life to protect everyone else's, the tough, sharp, and compassionate man. Bruce admires Superman, the alien who, despite being able to dominate them all by force, has decided to take care of a planet that isn't his own.
And, even with these two flawed principles, neither of them can imagine how alone the other feels... and how alone they themselves are.This is a long story, the superbat fanfic I've always wanted to write about how, within the canon, one day something changes and they find each other.

Summary
Bruce Wayne finding himself at the front and centre of a public scandal is nothing new.
