I’m not fully sure where it all went wrong.
Maybe it was when I moved to the US. Or maybe it was when I moved to Georgia after things started getting bad instead of going back home. Perhaps after the bite. No… it had to have been when my curiosity got the better of me when it came to the little group posted up at the quarry.

Summary
I slowly begin to button the buttons of the dress shirt I decided to wear, its size nearly dwarfing my smaller frame. I roll the oversized sleeves up to my elbows so as to use my hands properly. I bend over doing the same to my pant legs, rolling them up to my ankles as to put on my slippers.
I stand back up looking at myself in the mirror in the corner of the room.
Blood stains the walls and ceiling, and the lifeless bodies of my children lie on the ground. My children… my husband… my family… the burden of taking care of them is gone.
It seems I must find something else to do with my life… am I free?
