Summary
Following the fall of Emet-Selch, Urianger realizes that Elidibus will soon arrive and invites him to his home in Il Mheg, hoping to manipulate him into revealing his plans. He soon finds himself unwillingly ascended into the ranks of Ascians, blessed and bound by their shattered god. Torn between mortal loyalties and newly-forged sacred duty, he once again finds the fate of the Star in his hands as the mysteries of the Black Auracite unravel.

Elidibus has long been impressed by Urianger-- both his intellect and his sheer potential-- and after discovering the results of the Eden project decides he's too powerful and too dangerous to be left as he is. He thought that converting the Archon to the service of his god would simplify matters.
It wouldn't take long for him to realize how wrong that notion was.

Astarion is not expecting the question, Halsin can tell by the way he jerks upright, spine straight, shoulders strong.
“Two-hundred-and-forty,” he answers without hesitation. “Give or take a few years.”
Halsin swallows, rewords his question. “How old were you when you were turned?”
Astarion goes quiet. Extremely, cacophonously quiet.
“Thirty-nine,” he finally says, a bolt straight into Halsin’s heart.
