“You’re staring.” Liz says.
Elle realizes she is, and blinks rapidly before regaining her composure and smiling winningly.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. It’s just that—there aren’t really girls like you in LA.”Elle notes, belatedly, that this might sound rude anyways. Liz doesn’t seem all that offended though, she almost looks amused as she leans towards Elle and tilts her head,
“Girls like me?”
Girls like you, Elle wants to say, girls who are pretty like boys, with wide grins and dimples and eyelashes like oh my god.

“Who the hell is Madison?” Liz starts in confusion, before she’s shaking her head, “Doesn’t matter, Elle, I am not kissing my hand—”
Elle's eyes are pleading as she looks at Liz. “I was wondering if you could kiss me, actually.”
And for a brief moment Liz can hear her blood rushing in her ears.
“... What?” The word is uttered with a blink, Liz’s brain trying to process past the fact that Elle Woods just asked her to kiss her.
“For practice!” Elle rushes to elaborate.
“You want me to kiss you.” Liz repeats slowly, “So you can practice?”
“Madison is my best friend from LA, and we practiced when we were little but —” A shake of Elle’s head. “Now I’m not even sure if that worked, and I won’t know until my actual first kiss which — is nervewrecking! And— I’m Elle Woods! I’ve practiced cheer routines and speeches and I don’t know how it never occurred to me to prepare for something as big as this—”
Liz’s brows raise farther. “Who prepares to make out with somebody?”

Elle smiles at her and explains, “Cause I love your mom.”
“Well, I love my mom too.” Liz’s brows arch even as she shakes her head. “But, you know, I don’t think it would have ever occurred to me to hijack a mayoral debate on her behalf.”
“... Yeah, well.” Elle shrugs then, her dainty shoulders lifting and falling in a way that Liz finds her eyes tracing. There’s a beat of silence that has Liz’s eyes rising again, that provokes the snap of eye contact. Liz’s brows raise. Elle’s smile grows as her head tilts lightly to say, “I love you too. So.” Another shrug. “All the more reason to do this. Right?”
And for a brief moment Liz hears the high pitch of feedback.
“ … You love me.”
“Yeah.” Elle’s smile grows then, soft and warm in a way that has that feedback in Liz’s ears only raising higher in pitch. Elle’s head tilts further. “What? Don’t you love me?”
Liz’s lips part.
Nothing close to human sound comes out.

Peter's voice whittles down to a high pitched whistle, forgetting that he needs to breathe to continue creating more sound.
After a few more agonizing seconds during which Peter weighs the possibilities that he just gave his mentor and the savior of the world a heart attack, Mr. Stark looks up at him, eyes suddenly wide.
A beat passes.
"What's your teacher's name again?"
AKA, Ryland Grace and Tony Stark hooked up in college. This is fine, until 20 years later, Peter Parker gets involved. It's all downhill from there.
