La mayoría estaban casados, tenían hijos y una reputación cuidadosamente construida para asegurar al público que la paz había valido la pena.
La normalidad les sentaba bien.Nunca pareció encajar con Naruto.
Su vida privada se había convertido en objeto de una fascinación incesante, especulada por casi todos, pero verdaderamente desconocida para todos. Ni siquiera para sus allegados.
Lo que permanecía oculto era que, durante cinco años, el mayor héroe de la guerra había estado involucrado con el único hombre al que el mundo aún no sabía cómo perdonar.
Puede que Sasuke se hubiera redimido en teoría, pero su nombre seguía siendo algo frágil, algo que era mejor mantener alejado de la vida de Naruto.Aun así, su relación se mantuvo en secreto. Después de todo, nadie se habría planteado seriamente la idea de que Uzumaki Naruto pudiera ser uno de... esos.

Naruto's arm was around his shoulder, entirely unnecessarily, as they sat at the table. He seemed perfectly at ease making charming conversation with Sasuke's family, as if this were all perfectly natural—as if Sasuke had actually invited him, rather than Naruto having gone behind his back to ensure he arrived at the family dinner looking like an invited guest. As if they were actually dating.
Sasuke shot him an annoyed look over the chrysanthemums.
Naruto turned. There it was: that slightly antagonistic look he always got when Sasuke challenged him, the one that said he was challenging Sasuke right back. He took a food tray from Mikoto, slipping into the conversation without missing a beat. "Well, you know we've been thinking about it since Sasuke and I got engaged."
Sasuke nearly dropped his pomegranate juice all over his grandmother's prized white tablecloth.

Naruto lo abrazaba por el hombro, sin necesidad alguna, mientras estaban sentados a la mesa. Parecía de lo más cómodo, entablando una conversación amena con la familia de Sasuke, como si todo fuera de lo más natural; como si Sasuke lo hubiera invitado, en lugar de que Naruto hubiera actuado a sus espaldas para asegurarse de presentarse a la cena familiar como un invitado más. Como si de verdad fueran pareja.
Sasuke le dirigió una mirada de fastidio por encima de los crisantemos.
Naruto se giró. Ahí estaba: esa mirada ligeramente desafiante que siempre recibía cuando Sasuke lo retaba, la misma que decía que él también lo retaba. Tomó una bandeja de comida de Mikoto y se unió a la conversación sin perder el ritmo. "Bueno, ya sabes que hemos estado pensando en ello desde que Sasuke y yo nos comprometimos".
Sasuke casi derrama el jugo de granada sobre el preciado mantel blanco de su abuela.
