She couldn’t bear the idea of all the attention she was sure to receive on the first anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, and she sure as hell wasn’t going to be attending the commemoration. How could they stand it? They talked about it as if it had happened so long ago: Harry, the Weasleys, the Ministry…all of them. It was still so fresh, so raw; the memories felt like open wounds festering with infection.
She felt her chest tighten and closed her eyes to focus on her breathing like her mind healer had taught her. One deep breath, then two, and the faces of Remus and Tonks flashed before her eyes. Another deep breath, and it was Fred’s face with that lopsided grin he always wore.
She abruptly opened her eyes, giving up on the breathing exercises.

Ten years after the end of the war, the lives of some of our favorites come together at the inaugural Womping Willow Music Festival on the Hogwarts grounds during the summer of 2008. Some things have changed–like Theo and Harry’s on-again-off-again relationship–but some things have remained the same. Namely, the fact that Draco Malfoy is still ridiculously pining over Hermione Granger. The witch has been single for five years, choosing to focus on her career and restoring her relationship with her parents since her breakup with Ronald Weasley. Is this (finally!) Scorpius tilted his head. “What does that mean?”
“I think it’s because Aunty Mione is scared of spiders,” Albus answered. “Not as bad as Uncle Ron, but whenever she sees one, she always lets out a funny squeak. And Mum was saying that Aunty Mione’s hair is resembling a cat lady’s, and that if she wasn’t careful, there’d be nothing but cat fur and cobwebs left.”
Scorpius nodded. “Can something be done about that?” The boy asked seriously.
“Dad said he’s recommending another one of the Aurors to help her out.” Albus scratched out something on the parchment. “He’s apparently a big, muscled guy. Dad said he would take good care of Aunty Mione.”
A thunk interrupted the conversation.
Draco rubbed at his knee, where it had slammed against the bottom of the dining table, and avoided the stares of the two young boys.
