Álvaro blinked. "Sorry for what?"
"For not choosing Spain." His voice broke, his usual cold, composed expression was nowhere to be found, replaced by sheer vulnerability. "If I had... if I'd just, you could have a World Cup winner son—" His voice trailed off, his throat tightening from the effort to hold back his tears. "Now I can't even make Papá proud. I let Argentina and him down. Maybe I am a disappointment for you both."
Or, Nico learns that losing a World Cup final doesn't mean losing his family.
