Summary
After finishing at the Fire Academy, Buck’s stopped on his way out by Captain Bobby Nash from the 118 — the most talked-about station in LA. Nash offers him a spot as their new probie, impressed by his background as a dispatcher and his record-breaking run through training.
But Buck turns him down. He knows what went down under the last captain, Gerard, and he’s not about to walk into a place still recovering from that kind of mess. He tells Nash the team needs time, trust, and probably therapy before anyone new shows up. When Nash flinches at the word “therapy,” Buck figures he made the right call.

“It-it sounds like you need to hide a body or something else illegal, Tommy,” Buck says and loves how Tommy laughs. God, he missed this laugh.
“No,” Tommy shakes his head, but then frowns, “nothing like that. I need help with your special skills. You know,” Tommy moves his eyebrows, but Buck just looks at him blankly.
That’s when Tommy makes the gesture Buck loves to use, when he summons his powers and makes fire appear. Buck showed him. The only person except Eddie, who he showed. And Eddie only knows because man saw how Buck touched the fire and stopped it by absorbing all of its energy.
“Oh,” Buck nods, “you need to set something on fire?”
Tommy chuckles, “you’re adorable, when you’re confused. And no, not set something on fire. I need you to absorb the warmth and energy that fire left on me. Heal my burns. You said you can do it.”
or Buck has fire powers after the lighning strike, but nothing really changes in his life

Summary
Coughing and gasping for air, Leon put tremendous effort into not blacking out–both from the shit he’d sucked into his lungs and bouncing his head off the dirt when the shockwave from the blast toppled him. When he felt a pair of hands grasp him by his holster straps and pull him away from the crater the greenhouse had left behind, he pawed weakly for the knife strapped to his thigh, but then he heard a familiar voice–albeit distorted by a respirator mask:
“Hey, Leon–it’s okay. We’re here to help.”

Golden boy of the BSAA, knight in shining armor, and Leon’s hopeless crush, which had been going on for so long now that it was old enough to get a driver’s license.

His voice was a strained, quiet plea, and Chris sighed as he gently rubbed circles into his back, easily accepting most of the other man’s weight and swaying him back and forth a little.
“Fine. Just for a sec. But then you’ve gotta see a medic.”
Leon grunted noncomitally against him, and he rolled his eyes at the smaller man.
“Alright, but you’ve at least gotta let me check you out before we even think about going anywhere. God, you’re stubborn, you know that?”
