Summary
The Elven Kingdom of Elion is beset by war as the WitchKing looks to conquer the Western Realms of elves, men and dwarves. Aubrey Posen, Captain in the Elven Royal Guard is dispatched to investigate reports of orcs infiltrating the Barrier Mountains.
When Aubrey, her lieutenant Chloe, and apprentice Emily are ambushed, things look dire, till the timely intervention of two Rangers, one tall and statuesque who is deadly with a bow, and the other short and petite, and just as deadly with her knives.
Will these two Rangers join with the elves, and help counter the threat to the Western Realms? Can a small company of heroes stand against the Dark Horde? Only time will tell.
A Pitch Perfect fantasy story in the genre of Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons that no one was asking for, but fits into a 2024 Bechloe Week prompt.

The voice is familar and still grating, the heat of their body so close to Vi’s that it’s both nauseating and unsettlingly alluring.
“Odd, isn’t it? How I know what I’m doing,” Vi snarks back, her spine tightening as her steel-toe boot begins to tap on the linoleum beneath them.
“I wouldn’t go that far,” scoffs the woman beside her, arms brushing against Vi’s as they come up to cross over her chest.
Bright, sapphire-colored eyes meet hers from the corner of Dr. Kiramman’s gaze, the tiniest, most miniscule twitch of her lips preluding her next words. “I’d just say you’ve got decent enough luck to get easy cases.”
