Always arriving after the pair and leaving before they depart it seems, there’s never a good time to go and try to talk to her, so you resign yourself to the teasing over your admiring glances thinking that’s the end of the matter.

Garfield, for everything else he was, was also hilarious. Or at the very least you thought so – even if others might argue that point with you. And he had created a special game for when you were upset. Whenever you were having a rough day, you could pick out a pack of animal crackers, whatever kinds you had in the house, and he would try his best to guess which one you had. If he was right then he got the cracker, if he was wrong then you got it and a little kiss to accompany it – maybe sometimes even a big cat cuddle session. The game would go on with increasing antics until he was satisfied that your mood had been lifted.

Blue Beetle has been handling you as a villain for ages. But what happens after he shows up expecting a fight, only to find you bloody on the ground. Against Khaji Da’s better judgment, Jaime suggests dragging you back to their apartment and getting you cleaned up – after all, they need to find out what happened, and they can’t leave you to die. Which leads to their current predicament of getting you into the bath without leaving you unsupervised.

Summary
Some things were easier than others to say – Jaime could tell you any day of the week that he thought your smile was one of his favorite things, or that he looked forward to your good morning texts. Others were not as easy; like telling you that Khaji Da was sentient, that the scarab – though too worried over your reaction to introduce himself – was incredibly fond of you and had a major protective streak. It comes to a head though when you see firsthand just how willing Khaji is to protect both you and Jaime.

You had been lucky up until this point, managing to avoid the fray until one bad choice to switch a shift and help a coworker out. You got off lucky though, despite being one of the last to evacuate the room, you would heal just fine. At least that was what Martian Manhunter told you. But the coming days found him at your side more often than not despite being cleared, and you were unaware of the circulating theories surrounding the two of you.

Bart had always been affectionate in your relationship. Quick to give or ask for anything from a hug to a kiss – the latter of which he had made a habit of giving before each mission he went on. At least when it wasn’t something last minute or it was manageable. But you had finally decided to return the affections more yourself, beginning to ask for a “kiss tax” on small things such as passing through the door or handing over a drink. A practice that Bart seemed more than happy to adopt and turn around on you just as quickly.
