Estinien’s silence doesn’t exactly evoke a sense of confidence and Fima shrugs, taking the first step forward to close the gap between them. He cranes his neck back to meet his hidden gaze once they’re only a few fulms apart. “...As much as it shames me to admit it, I cannot say my senses were fully about me.” Estinien shakes his head, shoulders shrugging with a tension that Fima can identify as ‘my shoulder hurts and I’m trying not to make it everyone else’s problem’.
A classic dragoon maneuver if there ever was one.

When the door bangs open it’s instinct to blame the wind, but the sight of a bloodied and battered Rhyun’a stopped in the doorway has her reacting far more urgently. She is up in an instant, a protesting squeak coming from her Carbuncle as its headrest is violently pulled away. Fima, the deep sleeper he is, slowly stirs. He pushes himself up, one hand rubbing the sleep out of his eyes while the other blindly grasps for his spectacles on the nearby nightstand.
“All healers on deck, kitten.” Dante takes the extra couple of steps over to kick the edge of his cot, watching as the words visibly register in the flick of his ears. Fima’s face gets a more serious expression, the lazy edge to his movements vanishing as he tosses aside his blankets and swings his legs over to stand up. Finally getting a grasp on the brass frames, he puts his glasses on and looks over to the silhouette standing in front of blinding white snow. That figure staggers inside, turning on his heel to try and close the door behind him, but clearly lacking the energy to do so.

Summary
Seven people in one tiny studio apartment is a bit crowded and doesn't sound great. It sounds even less great when you factor in a soulless landlord hellbent on extracting every cent and bit of happiness from their ragtag little family, a homeless orphan kid with way too much intelligence, a quest to finally find a job that doesn't suck, and their heat getting turned off every damn week even though winter is rapidly approaching.
For some reason, the stunning guy who works at the funeral home two blocks over doesn't seem to mind, and Taako is sure as hell not going to press the issue.
