Summary
Ms. Granger? This sentence is for me alone. Go back home immediately. There is only one thing worse than living alone on a deserted island and that’s living with an insufferable know-it-all on a deserted island

Summary
Hermione cast the Avada but Severus intercepted her spell, letting it crash into the fireplace. “What does your potion do sir?”
“You see Hermione. Severus knows he must have his answers first. His curiosity is stronger than his moral outrage, if a death eater even has any. How many innocent people do you think he murdered Hermione? Have you ever asked how much blood is on his hands? No? You have granted him pardon because it was for the greater good. Severus has the understanding that sometimes you have to do unpleasant things, in order to achieve your goal. Just like me.” -

Summary
Then she heard it. A familiar voice that brought hope and dread. Draco Malfoy. “Well, well, what have we here? I think we caught a mouse in our trap. So nice of you to… drop in, Granger. The elves are looking everywhere but they hate this place and will never look here. Saves me the trouble of finding and capturing you. So, what shall I do with you, I wonder. I could turn you in and get a few brownie points from you-know-who. Of course, he’d be just as likely to kill me as reward me. I could tell father what I have, but he’s so pathetically out of it after that trip to Azkaban. I’m afraid he’d do something stupid, and you’d get away. Hmmm. What do you think Granger? What should I do with you?”

Summary
Hermione was calm and patient. “Don’t you recognize where you are?”
“YES OF COURSE!” Pounding on the table to relieve some of his tension. She jumped slightly as the plates and cutlery jingled. Severus' nerves were on edge, and he needed answers, but being belligerent was not the way to ask someone for help. “I apologize. This appears to be my childhood home, but that was not the spirit of my question. I don’t wish to banter the obvious with you. Please tell me what’s happening to me! What was that room? How did I get here? What are you doing here!?”

Summary
The potion went down smooth and granted blissful relief. Severus’ head cleared and his eyes focused as he sat on the bed coming back to life. Something was bothering him, and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He tried desperately to figure it out through the haze. Something about last night. Blind drunk and unable to tolerate his suffering any longer. About to throw himself off the roof to stop the pain and guilt that would never go away.
He did remember the most incredibly vivid dream he’d ever had.
She came to him out of the darkness, like hope. An apparition of Lily that took him to her breast and gave him comfort and the strength to go on.
