In the weeks following the final battle and Fred’s death, things were very heavy at The Burrow. And also quite tense. No one was quite sure what they were supposed to be doing, or when they were supposed to go back to their normal lives. This was further complicated by the fact that the last three years of their lives had been consumed by the war. There really was no “normal” to return to.
Mourning in an overcrowded house is challenging, and you can only walk on eggshells so long before something breaks.

Summary
Charlie's first year at Hogwarts is not going well at all. Over the course of a tumultuous holiday break, Molly and Arthur learn that Charlie is being seriously bullied by his peers (and a professor or two). Charlie starts suppressing his stims for fear of being mocked, and the emotions and pressure of the term start to boil over by the time he makes it home for Christmas. Bill deals with a lot of guilt over not doing a better job of protecting his brother.
