Summary
On her way home after school, Sandrone runs into a strange girl wandering beneath the winter rain, dressed in nothing but her nightgown, singing to herself.
It turns out to be the start of a very unlikely relationship.[“Right, I won’t make you go home if you don’t want to,” Sandrone grumbles, shivering. “But you are coming with me before you succumb to hypothermia.”
The girl blinks, bemused.
“Is this… kidnapping?”
“Hah?!” Sandrone exclaims, “Why would anyone want to kidnap you?”
The girl opens her mouth as if to answer, and Sandrone quickly cuts her off.
“Don’t say anything. Come with me, stay out here and freeze, it doesn’t matter to me either way. Do whatever you like.”
With that, she turns on her heel and walks away, stuffing her hands into her skirt pockets in an attempt to keep them warm. The girl stares at her with wide eyes, her mouth open but no words coming out, one small, pale hand clutching the front of Sandrone’s coat.
A few moments later, she is back under Sandrone’s umbrella, humming another song to herself as she links their arms together.
Flinching, she hisses, “What do you think you’re doing?”

Maybe it meant running away from everyone they cared about, but they were happy now. No one ever had to learn about their secret if they remained here. Perhaps true happiness could only be attained when one was alone.
Alone.
…Is that what I really want?
The four members of 25ji didn't fit the criteria for being "conventional friends." In a way, they were all fiercely independent and stubborn, to the point that Ena couldn't have imagined everyone growing closer.
But, slowly but surely, it had become a reality. Bound by the music they produced and long nights spent on Nightcord together, they had found a strange sense of peace, weaving the beginnings of friendship and falling into each other's rhythms. Even with their initial reluctance, they slowly began opening up and unraveling their true selves to one another, learning to lay themselves bare and be vulnerable even if it was scary.
Or at least they tried to. But Mizuki Akiyama never liked being vulnerable. They would much rather run away and disappear for good before laying themselves out so painfully to the world.
Alternatively: Mizuki disappears without a trace. But Ena won't give up on her.
