Summary
Remember when Hayden Pike punches Ilya after Shane said not to, right before the announcement of the Irina Foundation? Remember that that was the second time Hayden laid his hands on Ilya in the first month of knowing him?
Or, Shane gets rightfully fed up after the first month of Hayden's behavior towards Ilya. Punching Ilya was the final straw, so he tells Hayden to pretend he never found out. It sets off a chain of events landing him, happily, in Ottawa a year earlier and with a better support system for both him and Ilya.

Summary
The realization hit Ilya like a body check. They weren’t just evacuating for a fire, they were in the middle of a hotel, full of Ottawa players and hockey fans. Shane let go of Ilya’s hand. He turned to look at his boyfriend and that’s when he noticed what Shane was wearing. A black Centaurs hoodie with the bright red letters and numbers printed on the back: Rozanov 81. Ilya was sure Shane hadn't noticed what he was wearing, but he had pulled the drawstrings of the hoodie tight, leaving a small a hole at the center of his flushed face.
The rookie, clearly starstruck, stared. “Are you Shane Hollander? Like, the Shane Hollander?” Ilya wasn’t sure who was going to faint first, Shane or Luca.
The others stood there staring at the two men, mouths slightly agape. Bood broke into a slow smile. “Nice hoodie, Hollander. Supporting the enemy now?"

Summary
The command had sliced through him like a knife, and Shane had very nearly opened his mouth. It didn’t just paralyse his jaw, his entire body locked up, shock rippling through him.
No matter how many comments were made, neither of them had ever been so evil as to order him so directly. Not since-
But then Ilya Rozanov had tackled both of them to the ground, flinging his entire body weight at them, skates flying into the air.
-
AU where Shane just wants to play hockey but biology and shitty teammates make it nearly impossible. Ilya just wants to have some good competition on the ice. They make it work (eventually).

Summary
“Rise, Gimli Gloínsson, son of my kin, to tell me on your feet whom you have lost.” It was an order more than a request, and he could see the reluctance when Gimli took his hand to struggle to his feet. His tunic and armour sat too loose on him. Dark circles like half-moon ink stamps were pressed underneath his eyes, he carried the stink of foul eggs, smoke, old sweat and blood all the others carried around like a shroud. The imprint of Mordor on their bodies and souls. But when Gimli really looked at glittering Erebor standing strong after everything, at the people holding their breath, his gaze stuttered on Dwalin standing silently somewhere forever to Thorin’s back-left. Gimli closed his eyes and exhaled like one condemned before decapitation.
“All of them, my King. We have lost all of them.”//
Coming home to Erebor after the war, Gimli goes through the torturous ordeal of telling his King and his people what he has found in Khazad-dûm.
