    The entire conversation with Jiang Wanyin sits heavy in Nie Mingjue’s stomach even after he takes his leave and it’s distracting enough that he can’t concentrate on his work.

    He promised Jiang Wanyin that he would try and maybe he should start rather sooner than later with this; he only has seven days to make up for his previous—numerous—blunders.

    Nie Mingjue wrecks his brain on how he could possible get started on making it up to Jiang Wanyin and he remembers just how roughly he handled him yesterday. His grip was tight enough that he most likely left some bruises on Jiang Wanyin’s wrist and maybe he can start there.

    “I know how much Wanyin cares about me, I don’t need his tongue in my mouth for that,” Nie Mingjue mildly says and then smiles slightly at Lan Wangji when he narrows his eyes at him.
