Summary
When a twelve year old child is brought into the Pitt beaten within an inch of her life, it becomes a desperate attempt to locate the parents of the child, only to learn from the child that he’s in fact a trans child who goes by Dennis, they learn that his parents sent him to a conversion camp because of his “condition” and that he’s no longer welcome in their home nor do they care what happens to the child anymore. Jack and Michael decide to foster then adopt the boy.

“Who the hell is that for?” Wylan whispered, staring in confusion at the extra bedroll. Jesper shrugged.
Colm smiled. "Jesper told me you live together, which sounds like right fun. I imagine if I lived with my best friend, I would want to have a sleepover all the time, but I’m not sure how often you two do that. Maybe this will be a nice change!”
Best friend.
Colm didn’t know they were together.
Or, Jesper and Wylan go home to Novyi Zem for the holidays and have to learn to navigate all the things that make them different and contemplate all the reasons they love each other.
