Mydei pins him down with firm hands and says, low and urgent, “Listen—the people think you can bear a child.”
Phainon blinks at him. Mydei waits for him to sputter, to laugh. To refute him and call the very notion ridiculous, and launch into an hours-long exposition on the sheer absurdity of such a statement.
His husband does none of that.
(In the wake of Era Nova, peace settles—but gossip does not. Especially when it involves divine conception and the Deliverer of Amphoreus.)

Mydei couldn’t help but blush, for that voice—so cheerful, so full of energy.
And damn, Mydei had been feeling so alone of late that the fact that someone his own age was now piloting his plane had caused him to react like this…
After getting an immeasurable fame, Mydei needs the service of a personal plane to go to all his concerts. It wasn’t going to be a difficult tour until he realized the feelings he had developed for his friendly and pleasant personal pilot, whose voice is turning him crazy.

“‘You were cold…’ he whispers.
Mydei stiffens, then hums. This isn’t the first time Phainon has reacted to Mydei’s colder temperature, either. Those three words are enough to recall waking in a cold sweat to the Deliverer clinging to him like he’d slip away if he loosened his grip. When Mydei shifted and held Phainon that night, he shared a harsh truth for the first time: ‘I dreamed I was going through the cycles again. It… happens a lot,’ he’d confided in a quiet and small voice. ‘But this time, waking up like this, I-I really thought you were dead. That I killed you.’
And just like that night, Mydei holds him tighter, and tells him what he himself needs to hear just as much as Phainon does: ‘I’m okay. I’m alive. You’re here, with me.’”Or:
When suddenly awaking from a nightmare, Mydei finds himself securely enveloped by Phainon’s warmth. But when he feels him twitch and sees the bitterly familiar pained expression on his face, Mydei takes the initiative to comfort him in turn.
