Summary
He studied his reflection now: the older man looking back at him.
The hawk was gone. His hair had grown longer, brushing the back of his neck, bangs falling just over his forehead. He kept the sides shorter—never long, a quiet way to stay true to himself.
His body bore the scars of years of violence and fire. One cut ran over his left eyebrow—a reminder of a Russian blade that nearly ended his life.
Sometimes he wondered what Simon would say if he saw him now.
What would he think? He killed the thought quickly, stepping into the shower to wash off the rest of sleep.
It had been years. But Simon… Simon was never far from his thoughts.

Summary
Just when he thought he had cleared his mind of Simon, he appears at his door. Dressed in a tight black shirt, opening his delicious arms, he’s leaning on the wall, near Johnny’s room. His mask is on, but it’s a simple black balaclava instead of his scary plastic skull.
“Hey, Lt.” Johnny hopes he sounds as casual as he intended.
“Johnny.” His low ramble sends shivers down Soap’s spine. God, a lot has changed since their last mission. “Mind if we talk inside?”
He’s so not ready for this.
“Sure.”

Summary
“I’ll go to him” Ghost said eventually. “I'm not one for emotional support, however, John”
“I need you to,” Price replied. “He listens to you. You don’t bullshit him, and he doesn’t feel like he has to prove anything to you. You don’t need to fix it. Just... let him breathe.”
Ghost didn’t move at first. He let the words settle.
Then he stood.
Or
After a mission goes wrong, Soap returns to base carrying more than just blood on his hands. Price sends Ghost to find him. Ghost isn't good with comfort, but for Johnny... he'll try.
A story about grief, guilt, and the kind of trust that doesn’t need words.

Summary
“Well, Sergeant? What’s the verdict?” Ghost looks up from the sniper rifle he’s cleaning to see Soap leaning in the doorway with a shiteating grin on his face.
Soap crosses the room and slams a piece of paper down on the table. “Fit for full duty. Ye can stop yer mollycoddling now.”
“Is that so.” Ghost picks up the medical chit and scans it.
“Well, I’m glad yer finally admitting it—”
“…but you’re still not fit for full duty yet.”
Soap’s mouth snaps shut. Opens again, then he exhales sharply. “And why the hell not?”
“You’ve been medically cleared. Price left the final decision up to me.” Ghost tilts his head toward the door. “Gear up.”
Soap blinks. “Gear up?”
“For the PT course. Full obstacles.” Ghost calmly wipes the last bit of solvent from the bolt, though he can see that Soap is fuming. “You passed their tests. Now you pass mine.”
-or-Ghost puts Soap through the paces, and it gets...a little heated.

Summary
Ghost is shaking, whether from cold or from everything else between them, Soap can’t tell. His eyes are bright and unguarded through the mask, like the storm’s blown right through him and stripped him bare.
Soap’s breath hitches. “Why…” His voice cracks. “Why are ye here, Ghost?”
Ghost’s chest heaves once. Then he says, simply, “Because you’re here, Johnny.”
-or-Soap goes on leave, Ghost follows, and they FINALLY talk things out.
