Summary
The jeers and boos of the stadium are deafening as the alphas of the England football team drop to their knees, forced to watch as their omega team mates begin their walk of shame.
Erling is grateful at least that his Norwegian teammates did not have to endure this after the quarter final. The England team had been gracious winners, declining their right to humiliate their opponents, and Erling had felt a great rush of respect and affection wash over him for them.
The Argentinians have not been so generous.
They have insisted that tradition is to be adhered to in honor of their victory in the semi final. Or at least, some of them have. Erling knows that most of the Argentinians find this practice as outdated and barbaric as he does, but there are some who like to watch their rivals suffer.
And so Erling watches as the omegas of the England men’s football team are paraded naked in front of the world.
OR
The omegas of the losing team in every World Cup match are contracted to participate in a humiliating ritual, unless the winners decide to spare them. Erling is forced to watch Jude suffer through this ritual after the semi final.

Summary
When the referee’s whistle blows, Jude is running.
There’s an offensive attack they’ve got planned and it’s perfect to earn a tie that leads them to extra time, where they can solidify their defenses and properly win.
But the whistle blows and Jude falls to the ground.

There, in all his glory, stands Erling. His alpha, with comfortable clothes and a knowing semblance. With open arms and the bond pulling at Jude to run and be hugged by them. The only one able to understand the mess of emotions his brain is tangling after a brutal defeat.
For a moment, Jude doesn’t move. His eyes scan, glassy once again, everything beyond him until the haziness prevents him from doing so. Until his bottom lip trembles, his hands are numb and his inner omega preens under his alpha’s attentiveness.
“Love,” Erling says, and it’s all it takes for Jude’s resolve to crumble.
