After Ava disappears through the portal, Beatrice is left to hold together what remains of the Order of the Cruciform Sword and herself.
With no Warrior Nun and no promise of her return, Beatrice’s faith hardens into something dangerous.
Faith turns rigid. Waiting becomes ritual.
When Ava finally returns, Beatrice is no longer the person she left behind.

Beatrice's parents almost never visited. At least, they only saved it for special occasions. Her parents drove her crazy from afar, with loveless telephone calls and snide remarks about being unmarried... and you know, other 'lifestyle choices'.
It was a spur of the moment thing, a lapse of judgement when Beatrice invited them to meet her girlfriend. A girlfriend that as of ever, had never existed.
OR Ava offers to be Beatrice's girlfriend for a weekend get-away to Boston.
