Apollo wasn’t quite sure how he got into this situation.
That wasn’t entirely true, he knew that it started with more visits to Camp Half Blood, which led obviously to more time with his kids but also somehow more time with one Percy Jackson.
Now, though, Apollo had been kissing Percy, her back pressed against the wall while her hands gripped at his shirt. He couldn’t pinpoint what exactly it was, a noise Percy had made, a hard tug at his clothes, or the fact she had pressed minutely closer to him. But something in him had become as tense as a drawn bowstring

"Tell me about the surface again," he begs a whale, her skin weathered and scarred from countless journeys.
She hums, a deep vibration that Percy feels in his bones. The sky changes colors, little prince. Sometimes it's as blue as your father's realm, other times it burns with reds and golds that would make Midas weep.
Percy closes his eyes, trying to imagine it. He's seen glimpses of the sky from beneath the waves, but never in its full glory. One day, he promises himself. One day he'll see it all.
