The stream of refugees had turned flood in the last year. So many wounds to tend, fevers to soothe. Maker, how many blood slick hands had he held as warmth slipped from them?
Just a moment of rest, he coaxed himself. His eyes were so heavy.
But Justice flashed a warning.
Forest fire.
Hand shot out to retrieve his staff, he whipped to face it.
"I have made this place a refuge! Why do you..."
Sapphire eyes stared into him. Impossibly crystalline blue. Doe eyed and framed by dark, thick lashes. Flowed between by the unmistakable sloping of an elven nose. His belly clenched when his gaze fell to her lips. Had there ever been a pair so plush and cherry bitten?
Then, they somehow formed his name.
"Anders?"

as if saving the world isn't going to be difficult on its own, fate seems to have decided that it isn't done yet with fallon de riva and lucanis dellamorte, and they have to do it together. everyone is in hell, but it's the hell that they call home.
