Even a lowly vampire spawn feels the wretched, incessant nag of pitiless hunger that gnaws at their gut like a dogged beast of prey and won't let go. Astarion figures that it is high time that he sated his centuries-long hunger on the foolish girl that trusts him implicitly enough to sleep far too soundly in the presence of a predator. His own fangs, however, come back to bite him when he sucks more than he can swallow and reawakens old, all-too-human urges he thought as dead as his unbeating heart.

Summary
Silco is a very important man with a very peculiar problem: An unruly, delinquent daughter jeopardizing his aspirations with her impulsive recklessness and constantly at odds with his supporters and employees because of it. Between building his budding empire, running his (less than) reputable business, and maintaining the careful balance of his power structure, he can't seem to be able to connect with her the way he feels a father should. The solution could lie in the most unexpected of places-- a mouthy underling far closer to his daughter's age than his own-- but might end up causing a very different type of problem for him-- one that puts him into some very compromising positions.

A gift from a drukhari can mean many things, but that's exactly how Marazhai describes his plan to Lillandyr. He has a gift. A gift that, according to him, she deserves for being so cunning and clever. Praise from someone like Marazhai does not come cheap and there's always something more than he lets on. Is a gift truly is going to be a gift? Or something else that Lillandyr will have to choke down like a bitter pill? She will find out. One way or another, she will find out. They are tied now, Marazhai and her. What's worse that can happen?
He chuckles and with the tip of his nose Marazhai nudges hers. Grip on her waist intensifies even further and Lillandyr clenches her teeth just to make sure she’s not going to give the drukhari satisfaction of hearing a pained yelp escape her.
“Yes, harder.” Marazhai chuckles and doesn’t even blink while his eyes bore straight into hers, so close that her sight starts to lose clear focus. Lillandyr’s nails dig into his pale skin, blood pebbles around the marks but she doesn’t see it, all she sees is deep, void-like blackness of his pupils.
