    "Truth be told I'm feeling a bit off," Loid admitted lightly with a smile. "Nothing too bad, I swear," he continued when Yor looked even more worried. She was watching Loid intensely as if he were about to collapse at any second—it was as charming as it was overkill. "I think I'm going to call into work once Anya heads off to school. Try to sleep it off."
    "I can call in too and stay with you," Yor immediately suggested. Which wasn’t odd, in fact Loid had half expected her offer. Yor's need to care for anyone she deemed family had been ingrained into her as a child, stemming from a childhood of taking care of her brother. It was natural that the alpha part of her would want to take care of a perceived spouse, especially an omega one.

    What Loid hadn't expected was that when he went to reply—oh there's no need for that, I'll be fine—what actually came out was, "If you're sure."

     

    Loid's heat makes an unexpected appearance. Yor takes care of him.
