Had Carla actually picked up?
“No I errr, I had to move in the end, im staying at a new place now…its erm its called rhubarb hill hotel…”
“Rhubarb hill hotel?”
“Yep… yeah im in the blessing suite.”
“Well I hope your having a good time, I’m missing ya.”
“I miss you too bets, so much. But listen darling I'm going to have to go, I told my dad I’d ring him.”
Lisa’s brain screeched to a halt. Her dad? Carla’s dad was dead. What was Carla talking about?
Her entire body suddenly electric with dread.
Carla had just told Betsy she was in danger.
Canon divergence - what if Carla had snuck in more than just the what3words, what if she’d used their secret code word for danger?

Summary
Newcastle University, 2004, three eighteen year olds meet and become firm friends. But while her new friends are confident in their own identity, 18 year old Lisa Swain is still figuring herself out.
After uni, Lisa finds herself settling down in the north east, getting married and having a baby. But when Lisa's wife is killed in a hit and run, she moves back to the Manchester area with her daughter to start afresh.
Four years after losing her wife, Lisa is lonely. Letting herself be set up on a blind date might turn out to be a terrible plan. But, then again, maybe it might just turn out to be the best thing Lisa ever did.
(Eve Panesar-Unwin is a character in this, but she is written in a way that you don't need to know anything about her for this to make sense. So non-Eastenders fans can treat her like an original character.)

Summary
"Oh, please tell me you haven’t had an argument with your mother in front of the whole family".
"Worse" Lisa muttered, suddenly looking very interested in the floor. "I lied".
"You? Detective Sergeant Lisa Swain, pillar of truth and justice, told a fib? Colour me intrigued. What did you say?"
"I told them I was already dating someone."
Carla let out a sharp bark of laughter. "No! Brilliant. Who’s the lucky imaginary lady?"
"Mum went into absolute overdrive. She didn't even pause for breath. She immediately declared that if I’ve been seeing someone, they have to come on the family holiday. I started panicking, trying to make up excuses – said she was busy, said she hated the beach, said she had a terrible phobia of flying. But they wouldn't have it. Mum was relentless. She demanded to know her name".
"And? What did you tell her?”
"I said Carla"

Summary
When Carla is hired for Lisa's birthday party, their connection is instant. I can't really describe the plot in more detail than that because honestly, there isn't much of one. It's very smutty. I do apologise. I don't know what's happened to my brain. Maybe it's the weather or the loss of One Night Stand!
AU - Lisa isn't widowed and doesn't have Betsy. Carla has a slightly different history. And they're both 40.
