Riftan knew he would regret going to the great celebration for Rosetta Croix's engagement, but the Remdragon Knights deserved to have some fun. He had hoped that he could see glimpses of his childhood love and reintroduce himself to her, but seeing that she could still not tolarate the sight of him, he just wanted the time to pass by quickly so he could go back to Anatol.
That was until, by accident, they met alone in the woods.
AKA Riftan and Maxi get the chance to know each other more before they get married.

The Hunger Games weren't enough for the Capitol. They also took children away from the districts. After the Capitol falls and the war is over, Peeta meets a girl that doesn't even remember her early years in 12. He takes her home and shows her life can be good again.
It's a comfort work I write mostly for myself, but I'm happy to share.

She looks up at me, somewhat alarmed, as she rests the plate of eggs in front of me from across the table. A moment passes as she straightens up and brushes her hands on her apron, waiting.
"What-" I clear my throat, trying to clear the croak in my voice. I guess it has been a while since I've really used it.
"Why- um. Are you here?"
The silence stretches. I pick at my nails under the table. My delivery is wrong. No matter that I've been thinking about this question for hours now - it sounds like I want her gone. She frowns slightly, preparing to answer.
"-In 12, I mean." I rush to cover. My heart pinches slightly - maybe I wasn't ready to hear why she's here in my house, anyway.
