“How can I refuse if you find me so irresistible?” Phil teases with a smile and moves closer.
“I really hate you sometimes, you know,” Dan says and Phil kisses him again.

Some part of her brain knows that they’d most likely will soon take a step further in their relationship. The other is frozen and scared because it would be Dani’s first ever time. And while she watched some videos in secret, it is still not the same. It is real and it is unpredictable.

Summary
For his uni project, Phil Lester needs to write a romance script. For the sake of realism, he decides to base it on something familiar: his grumpy, emotionally unavailable law student roommate.
Dan Howell does not believe in love. He definitely does not believe in romance. And he absolutely does not agree to being turned into one.
But as Phil starts writing, capturing small moments, quiet routines, things that shouldn’t mean anything, it becomes harder to ignore how little he’s actually changing. Because the problem with writing a love story about real life is that, at some point, you have to decide where the fiction ends… and what it means if it never did.
(or: Phil writes a romance for class. Dan accidentally ends up in it. This is, unfortunately, not hypothetical.)
