In the quiet early mornings of Hometown, life still felt boxed-in for young Asriel Dreemurr, who carried the heavy weight of being the perfect son. He slipped out before dawn for his usual run, chasing the one thing that felt like his own, while quietly hoping it might ease the expectations pressing down on him. But on this ordinary morning, a new girl boldly confronts him and challenges him to a race rather rudely.
Not a very promising beginning for a friendship, but it would be the beginning of something much bigger. A meeting that would forge the very fate of everyone around them, shattering the fragile peace he had always known. Something darker was drawing near.
