In a time of turmoil, the King, seeking reinforcements in Ming China, abandoned his people, causing a rift within the court. He split the court into two, entrusted the main branch of leadership to the Crown Prince, Sunoo—a second-born and, to the dismay of many, a male Omega.
Thrust into the role of a monarch, Sunoo was burdened with the daunting task of forming a voluntary army to defend against the Japanese invasion.
