    Summary

    A mostly crackfic series that asks, what if Shane and Ilya were slightly out of character? Shane is bitchier, Ilya is manic and philosophical, Cliff Marleau and the Boston boys take turns babysitting their crashing-out captain, and Shane finally gets recognized as the pretty, funny, sassy player he is.

    Nothing is too serious about this, it's a mix of show and book canon, and a healthy dose of fanon (himbo king Cliff). Ilya is allowed to catch feelings early, as a treat and Shane is allowed to let his inner mean girl out.

    Please enjoy these silly boys and their silly relationships! Four works so far with more to come! How much more? I don't know! They keep doing silly things and my brain keeps writing it down.

    Ilya is glad that Hunter gets the chance to feel like a grandfather. Really, he's happy the guy gets to teach the new generation, or whatever. But Ilya is going to develop a permanent twitch in his eye every time they play against the Admirals if the new rookie doesn't leave the NHL or dies. He will help with either of these solutions, if this terror doesn't stop soon.
    "Hi Shane!" James Miller, the Admirals rookie in question, calls from their side of the ice as the rest of the team warms up. "You look incredibly pretty today, even more than usual."
    "You can't even see his face," Ilya mutters. "He has a helmet on."

    He wants to introduce himself, wants to tell them how happy he is that their love exists, wants to say that he had wished for Ottowa. But he doesn't want his teammates to lock him out naked in a hotel corridor again. Maybe next time they will pull him outside, maybe next time—
    He skates a little closer to Rozanov, holding his gaze. They are almost the same height.
    "Hello little baby Metro," Rozanov says.
    He swallows against the knot in his throat.
    "Hey," his voice is stronger than he expects. "You are a disgrace for Russia, you stupid fucking fa—"
    His childhood idol punches him so hard in the face that he loses his footing, landing on his back as he gets the wind knocked out of him. He thinks a fight breaks out, which is kind of ironic, since his teammates don't even like him.

    Nineteen year old Viktor Yegorov is excited to join the NHL, to leave Russia before anyone finds out that he likes boys. He’s drafted by Montreal right after Shane Hollander leaves to join his husband in Ottowa, so the timing could, admittedly, be better. But he’s trying not to let that put a damper on his excitement. He still gets to join the same league as his idols. His new team will be fine. Everything will be fine.
