In Marin's defense, completely freaking out was not the first thing he did when rounding the corner and catching sight of her 'spectacle of the day.'Sure, he might have jumped to a few conclusions and gotten himself unecessarily worked up—and truly, for her sake it's a good job that a look alone can't actually kill anyone—but honestly! There were definitely a few moments there, when Marin felt relatively cool about it.
After all—Marin's a superhero.
(He knows better than to strangle cats and having to bother the vet in the middle of the night.)

"Touché," the Beetle hums next to her, safely shielded from her internal battlefield by the protective curve of her lips. "Want to make a deal then? I'll give my girl a present for Christmas, and you'll get something for your guy. It might be just what I need to put in some gears," he winks, nudging her shoulder with his own - which normally would have sent her flying over the moon, but right now just makes her feel like she's being pushed away.

“We don’t need to do anything!” Peter cut him off through gritted teeth. “You don’t need to do anything! This wouldn’t have happened if you left me alone! You’ve done enough, Nightwing!”
Nightwing froze. Peter forced himself up, walking around the vigilante.
“Peter– wait–” Nightwing snapped out of his shock. He turned to Peter and almost reached for his injured arm– but the boy immediately recoiled. Dick realised his mistake, and his hand simply hovered.
“Don’t fucking touch me.” Peter spat with pure venom. “You’ve done enough.”

Oww, Peter thought blandly as he shifted- no, scratch that, tried to shift- onto his back but quickly decided that wasn’t in his best interest. Voices, both his own and not, swam in his head like a wave beating against his forehead.
“They’re coming here because of me, right? Because I’m Peter Parker? So cast a new spell, make everyone forget who Peter Parker is. Make everyone forget me.”
“It wouldn’t be enough. Your very presence would destabilize this universe.”
Peter finally managed to roll himself over onto his back, ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his spine at the movement enough to sit up and look around. He was in an alley which thankfully held no occupants save himself and the trash littering the ground.
“But I can… I can send you away. To a place where there is no Peter Parker. No Spiderman.”
