Kaveh bit his lower lip. He did have another reason… but he was scared to bring it up to Alhaitham. He really wasn't even sure why. He was an alpha… he understood these types of feelings well. A deep seeded instinct that was ingrained in him. His eyes looked anywhere but his partner.
Alhaitham’s soft, fluffy tail wrapped around Kaveh’s waist. A soft purr rumbled in his chest as he held the lion close. He pressed a soft kiss to his temple. The alpha was doing everything in his power to comfort his mate. That's all he wanted… was to comfort and protect. Alhaitham didn't rush him, just waited ever so patiently for the omega to open up.
“I have been avoiding my heat because… I wanted my first heat spent with you to be the one where we mate….” Kaveh felt like his face was on fire. Saying it out loud made him feel almost childish, like he was living in a fantasy.
“You’ve been on suppressants for nearly 2 years because of that?” Alhaitham raised a brow. “Angel, please stop taking them. We can mate as soon as your heat comes on.”

“Sometimes, it gets to a point that I,” Kaveh swallows. “That I don’t know if I’d ever like to move out of your house. And I know I’ll have to, eventually, if we make it out of here, but that doesn’t stop me from selfishly wishing I could stay.”
“You can,” Alhaitham says immediately. His voice is low as he stands so painfully close, close enough that Kaveh can smell him, that comforting woodsy scent that both makes his stomach flip and his nerves ease. “You can stay. I never had any plans to ask you to leave.”
Kaveh blinks. “Really?”
With Teyvat in danger due to the corruption from Irminsul, Kaveh realizes that there's things he's left unsaid to Alhaitham. In the event they don't make it out alive, he spills to him how he's felt for a long, long time.
Takes place during the scene on the rooftop of the Temple.

Kaveh doesn’t look up from his full plate. Eyebrows drawn, he mumbles something unintelligible. Alhaitham opens his mouth to press him again, but then Kaveh’s free hand moves into his tousled hair. He brushes the locks behind his ear, but they fall forward anyway.
Ah. Alhaitham identifies the issue. “You don’t want to eat with hair in your face, is that it?” he asks, eyeing Kaveh’s movements. When Kaveh glares at him, he knows he hit the target, dead center.
Alhaitham pulls up a chair on Kaveh’s side of the table and sits down. “Turn your head.”
Alhaitham brushes up on hair braiding skills he left behind with his Akademiya school uniform.
