So much anguish, so much happiness, and maybe in a neutral place, maybe a thunderstorm full of lightning before a quiet rain that was yet to come.

Pomni's words were playing though Caine's mind in an agonizing loop. In any other circumstances, he'd be able to erase that thought. Loan then to Bubble permanently, keep going on as intended.
But this was not his Bubble.
This was not his circus.
Yet, these were his humans.
They didn't remember him. They did not know he was an ai. They had just come back from the Candy Canyon Kingdom.
Why was this happening?
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
He could win their favor.
He could win their love, and affection.
He had to.
He had nothing left but this second chance.
And, ideally, he'd do it WITHOUT making himself a horrible, cruel monster that no one loved in the process.
"You just! Don't! LISTEN!"
... Fine.
If listening was what it took...
Then Caine would listen.

One of the best fanfics I've ever read, the characterization is impeccable, and I really love how everything is written, it's all so complete! Caine & Kinger talk!,I absolutely love this, Ragatha is also an amazing character here, I love how the dynamic between Kinger & Caine and Ragatha & Kinger is developed.
We also have Scratch's backstory here, my God, I don't think I've ever seen such a good description of the character!!!
