Summary
Zanka starts to shift away, and Jabber's skull throbs in protest. Shit, his window of opportunity is closing.
Without wasting another moment, Jabber grabs Zanka's hand again, this time dragging it onto his head. "Hurts," he murmurs weakly. He has to fight down a grin, fully expecting Zanka to call bullshit and tell him to go fuck himself.
Instead, Zanka leaves his hand where Jabber's placed it. He hums in sympathy, threading his fingers between the chemist's thick locs to massage his scalp.
Jabber forgets to breathe.
Or: Jabber gets a migraine and finds comfort from an unexpected source.

Summary
In all their fights and breaks and whatever else people would call it, there had never been someone new. Even in the bitterness and hatred, it had been just the two of them. Maybe Jabber was foolish, maybe she’d grown too content with what her and Zanka had going on that she didn’t even consider it, didn’t even consider Zanka pursuing other options and ditching her for something she deemed ‘better’. Jabber needed to blow off some steam.
Zanka has been avoiding Jabber for weeks now and Jabber is determined to figure out why.

She gets herself into terrifying life-threatening situations because of boredom; she wants the rush of a fight, to feel the endorphins of the pain she's given when she loses, or the rush from a successful victory. However, as previously established, monotony is not something that is in her ballpark. She’s been dating Zanka Nijuku for almost seven months. Zanka Nijuku has won an equal number."
