Summary
Vincent Lemaire has been the best player on every team he's ever been on, so it makes sense when he's nominated for Rookie of the Year. Ethan Korogyi has been winning national championships since he was twelve years old, so it's only logical that he goes third in the draft overall.
But those achievements don't really matter. They don't mean anything when they are perpetually behind Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
At least they have each other. That's something Rozanov and Hollander will never understand.

Summary
In January 2017, the Montreal Voyageurs ceased to exist. The owner and GM vanished after embezzling $600 million into a crypto scheme, forcing the franchise into federal bankruptcy and immediate dissolution. Contracts were voided overnight. Shane hadn’t spoken to Ilya since the tuna melt incident. Now, with no team, Shane could end up anywhere, on opposite sides of the country, or in the same locker room as Ilya.

The realization hits Ilya like a punch to the solar plexus.
