She has a steady record deal (and has to endure a steady stream of besuited menaces telling her how to do her job.) She went to Juilliard (and lost her ex-best everything along the way.)
Yup. Totally got this under control.
At least until said ex-best "it's complicated" reenters her life via Adora's television screen. Now Adora's finally got the chance at getting ten years worth of overdue answers, if she doesn't end up strangling Catra first.

Catra smiles, snakelike, catlike, the corners of her pink mouth lifting upward. “Come swim with me, Adora,” she says, less pleadingly and more like she knows already Adora will say yes. She’s too close to Adora, who can feel the princess’ warmth, and the sun is beating down again on her own clothed figure. Adora breathes in dust and humidity, and she thirsts.

The thing is- the thing is, Scorpia expects challenges, okay? Her whole life has been made up of them. Suspicious glances and muttered whispers and long days spent training more than the normal recruit. The Horde wants perfection. The Horde wants loyalty. The Horde wants to know that Scorpia isn't some Princess traitor.
But the thing is that the Rebellion is. Ridiculously well-planned at challenges. They don't do those things. They do things like, say, hand her objects and don't tell her if they're food or gifts, or ask (ask!) her to go on missions. What is she supposed to say to that? "No, I'm good, I've got this splinter in my claw and I just don't feel like fighting in this apperantly totally voluntary war effort"? Hordak would have her for lunch with a side of that weird sickly-sweet bar they have here. Blubber? Butter? Butter.
And this? Tiny Frosta curled around her tail like it's some kind of soft plush while she snores into her lap? This is easily the best challenge so far. Scorpia would swear by it. Whoever invented this little go around deserves a raise, it's so good. Two extra blubber bars for desert kind of raise! Ingenious.
Also, Scorpia needs to pee. A lot.

“You can’t miss someone sitting right across from you,” responds Catra. Adora can’t help but disagree.
She looks at Catra expectantly, and after a pause, Catra lets out a long breath. “Fine, fine,” she says. “You’ve always been my favorite ghost, skeleton in the closet, whatever.” Adora frowns over at her. Catra shrugs, evidently unwilling to say anything else. Catra gives her another look that punctuates this, a look that says stop asking for more and Adora, folding her hands neatly, does as she's told.
