Summary
Ramattra learned that a princess was to arrive at the Shambali Monastery the same day he learned she was to be his charge.
It was not a chance to learn about human nature, no matter how Mondatta liked to frame it. It was a punishment.
He thought back on all the royal dignitaries that came in the past, and wondered which of them this new princess would resemble. Would she be spoiled, demanding a fast remedy that did not exist? Would she be lazy, and expect to lie about as the monks worked tirelessly to heal her and pick up her slack? Would she be sheltered, perhaps, and arrive like a weeping bride when she saw the ravager that was to be her guide?
He was not prepared for Hana Song.

Forced to recover from the battle, Hana Song is sent to repair the omnic and gather intel. Before long, however, Hana and Ramattra find they have more in common than they realise.
